Bloxam - John & Martha
« on: Sunday 21 October 12 10:07 BST (UK) »
(Also posting this is Derbyshire list - see later)

I am related through John & Martha's son David and have come across some very helpful and detailed information at:

http://genealogy.bloxamedia.com/bloxam/BloxamJ_1775.php

Information at this location suggests that son Philip - who according to IGI was born 2 May 1803, bap 1 Jun 1802 at Aylestone to John & Elizabeth Bloxam - is the son of this John.

I have been unable to find
either the (1st) ? marriage of John Bloxam to Elizabeth;
nor confirming evidence to support IGI bapt of Philip
nor death/burial of (1st)? wife Elizabeth

There is also connected information on other threads
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,601051.0.html
and
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,600616.0.html

Throughout census returns David states that he was born in Little Eaton, Derbyshire although I can find no baptism (around 1807) but have found at IGI baptism of Joseph on 25 Mar 1810 at St Pauls, Little Eaton to John & Martha Bloxam

There is a marriageat St Alkmund, Derby for John Bloxam & Martha Taylor, both of Little Eaton on 14 Jul 1806.

There are baptisms of John & Martha's children at Aylestone from 1812 until 1823 - those for David, Agnes and Joseph seemingly conducted (all on 23 May 1818) when the children were 11, 10 & 8 yrs old respectively - a bit surprised there might not be a vicar's note to this effect??

Going back from John and Martha Bloxam from the Aylestone Parish Records the earliest connections I have are:
Henry Blocksome and Mary with children William born 1676, Mary born 1679, Bridget born 1682, Henry born 1684.
The fourth child Henry marries Mary Allen and they have 6 children Mary born 1710, Henry born 1713, William born 1715, Thomas born 1721, Charles born 1724 and twin George born 1724.
The sixth child George marries Mary Swain and they have 12 children.  The 11th child is John born 1775 who marries Martha Taylor.

There are earlier families in Aylestone Parish Records than 1676 but I cannot connect them due to an annoying gap.

Apologies for error & confusion above re Philip
"Information at this location suggests that son Philip - who according to IGI was born 2 May 1803, bap 1 Jun 1802 at Aylestone to John & Elizabeth Bloxam - is the son of this John. "

It's source:  http://genealogy .bloxamedia.com/bloxam/BloxamP_1803.php
that says birth 2 May 1803 (purporting to come from John Bloxam's bible

IGI states "Birth" (not Christemning) as 1 Jun 1802
