John Drew & Eliza Isaac marriage 1839 East Stonehouse
« on: Friday 19 October 12 16:37 BST (UK) »
Dear Rootshchatters

I've been trying to find a marriage for John Drew and Eliza Isaac (I have posted info about these two on the Dorset look-up board, as John Drew was born in Cattistock). Rootshchatters on the Dorset board are pretty sure they married but can't find a 'date'.

I have tried BMD index and there is a John Drew marrying in East Stonehouse Devon in the Oct period 1839. There is also an Eliza Isaac marrying in East Stonehouse Devon in the Oct period 1839. But they are not 'linking up' on the BMD index, as the page numbers seem to be different (although these are typed copies, not the originals).

On ancestry.com there are details for both John Drew and Eliza Isaac listed separately, marrying in East Stonehouse in 1839 Oct period. Could someone please click into the detail and see if they were actually marrying each other?! I really hope they are as that would solve a lot of my problems!

I know an Eliza Isaac and a John Drew had a child Edwin Drew in Bath in 1842 as they are listed in the Bath BMD index (knowledge gained from very helpful Rootschatters) so, this date of 1839 would 'fit' well.

Many thanks in anticipation.

The only way to be sure would be to send for the marriage certificate

I noticed on the possible marriage partners for Eliza that there  is one man missing  ie.  4 women and 3 men, so this is the most likely certificate to send for .   East Stonehouse Devon  9. 379. 1839(4). Eliza Isaac.
