Benjamin GREGORY Hd Ma 29 Joiner & Maltster b. Matlock, Derbyshire
Ann GREGORY Wi Ma 28 b. Matlock, Derbyshire
William GREGORY So 8 b. Matlock, Derbyshire
John GREGORY So 1 b. Matlock, Derbyshire

In 1841 I think I have Benjamin in HO107 / 193 / 4 / 10 / 12 p 12: Ridings, Alfreton, Derbyshire (with unrelated people)

Thanks, I've got them coming forward through the censuses. Its the story going backwards from Benjamin b. about 1822 in Matlock that puzzles me.

I also found and disproved as mine the christening for Benjamin GREGORY 2 Apr 1820 to John & Phoebe Farmer of Tansley. I can't find hide nor hair of my Benjamin. Perhaps he was illegitimate or non-conformist. Looks like I'll have to order the marriage certificate of Benjamin & Ann SLACK.
