Good afternoon.

Can anyone help with a death date and place for this man.

Richard Daniel Bright bap. 17 Oct.1803 Bishops Castle, Shropshire.
                                    m. 02 July 1825 to Sarah Ann Frankland.

Not sure if you already have this information, but it might help narrow down the search parameters....

1841 Census for Bishop's Castle shows a Sarah Ann BRIGHT a grocer aged 35 with children Richard James 13, George Frankland 11, Martha 9, Edward 8 and John 5.

So Richard could well have died between 1836 ish and 1841.

I can see christening records for Richard James, George Frankland and Martha, but had hoped to find one for John to see where the family were living then in the hope it might help track Richard Daniel's death.

There are 2 possible entries on FreeBMD and a couple of possibles on Familysearch.org for the death of a Richard BRIGHT.

I did have the Census, but had wondered whether just not at home etc on Census night.

So need to look at freebdm to see death.

Yes there is a John and a Edward Bright seemed as if they were away from home also.

Sad to say Richard Daniel Bright also died early 
Then his wife and family went to New Zealand.

John also came to New Zealand.

George Frankland Bright went to South Australia.

So trying to find Edward  Bright and Martha Bright in England.

Interesting... I was drawn to your post because of the BRIGHT name.

My NZ born husband has a connection with BRIGHT from Shropshire who has proved difficult to trace as well.

Florence Alice REYNOLDS gave her parents as William REYNOLDS and Emma BRIGHT and her birthplace as Shropshire when she married in Dunedin.  The closest match I can see that might be Florence is an Alice J REYNOLDS whose parents were William and Emma and who had a brother Charles Bright REYNOLDS......

Wonder if this Emma fits in with your lot somewhere??

Now that is interesting re Martha, thank you.

Will have to check Martha.
As have baptism for Martha as 07 August 1831 Much Wenloch, Shropshire.

Same as Edward Bright's Baptism 26 april 1833 Much Wenloch, Shropshire.

It is so easy to follow a wrong path, which i have done I think for their mother Sarah Anne Frankland. Think have given her wrong parents.??

I live in NZ. Can i help you with trying to find Emma Bright.

Don't think have seen REYNOLDS name pop up with what i have done so far.

But willing to check for you and look up.

Do you know of our old newspapers that are online.

A very useful help for researching.

I also know of another man who does BRIGHT, but not connected to our Bright's so far.

There seemed to be a few families of bright around bishops Castle, Shropshire.
