I'm trying to find out more about the Gibbs family of Newbury /Speen. The top of the tree I have is here:
http://www.lostlangtons.co.uk/humogen/family/humo_/F1619/I4718/Starting with Samuel Gibbs. If you go up a level you can see he had a brother Michael. Samuels daughter Elizabeth married my ancestor William Langton in 1679 in Speen. William was not born in Newbury and I can't trace him back. I have tried very hard to do that the last few years.
I'm hoping that if I can trace the Gibbs back somewhere before Newbury then maybe I will find Langtons there too. There are various Gibbs families in Wiltshire and Gloucestershire but I dont know which group they come from.
I'd be very grateful if anyone can help me get back further.
