Hi Chris,
Don't know how useful this will be to you, but I noticed an Ellen N. Flack in an 1871 census I was looking at today. [RG10, Folio 10, page 11, Piece No: 1658]
She is a domestic servant in the household of John K. Nix, occupation: Chemist.
A fellow servant in the same household is Betsy H. Nix, born in Bradwell on Sea, niece, and a daughter of Betsy Nix, (nee Parker - daughter of James Parker, barge owner].
Does your Amelia Moss tie up with the Parker family?
Regards
