JOHN & AMELIA MOSS, BRADWELL ON SEA, ESSEX c1800
« on: Monday 15 October 12 15:20 BST (UK) »
John and Amelia Moss of Bradwell on Sea are my 2 x Great grandparents. John married Amelia Flack there in February 1805.

John and Amelia had several children and he I believe died before the 1841 census. I would welcome any information about this family especially from anyone who may also have them as great grandparents.

Heres hoping,

Chris

Hi - an a warm welcome to rootschat.

Researchers with Essex ancestors are lucky, as many parish register can be viewed online via Essex Ancestors on the SEAX site - for a small fee.
Unless of course you can get to the Essex Record Office yourself, which is a great place. Your profile doesn't say where you are.

But maybe someone on here will find some info for you.

Lizdb,

Thanks for responding with that information so quickly.

I've heard of SEAX but haven't used it yet and from what you say it is very helpful so must try my hand at it.

Your reply is greatly appreciated

Hi Chris,
Don't know how useful this will be to you, but I noticed an Ellen N. Flack in an 1871 census I was looking at today. [RG10, Folio 10, page 11, Piece No: 1658]
She is a domestic servant in the household of John K. Nix, occupation: Chemist.
A fellow servant in the same household is Betsy H. Nix, born in Bradwell on Sea, niece, and a daughter of Betsy Nix, (nee Parker - daughter of James Parker, barge owner].
Does your Amelia Moss tie up with the Parker family?
Regards

Hi Crowsfeet,

Thank you for your reply to my message. I havn't come across an Ellen Flack in my search and my Amelia died in September 1855 in Bradwell. It is possible they were related so I will have to check this further information out. At the moment I don't know of any link with the Parker line but if I find out anything I will let you know.

Thanks again and apologies for the delay in my reply.

Good researching
