Station masters - Longton Station

Do any of the many railway enthusiasts out there have a record of station masters at Longton or know where I'd find it please?

Thanks for the thought. Staffs RO couldn't really help. Some Directories include station masters but others don't. Unfortunately, I don't have a sufficiently well defined date to go on, say 1920s - 1940s!!

You might try Ancestry's Railway Employment Records collection. Quote from their website about the collection:

What is included?

All of the railways included in this database were once private companies that later came under authority of the British Transport Commission with the 1947 Transport Act. The collection features selected records from the following companies:

Approximately 50% of the books cover the Great Western Railway, while the books covering the London and North Western Railway are more dense with records. Most records are prior to 1949, though some date later.

Longton appears to have belonged to the North Staffordshire Railway until 1923 when it was amalgamated into the London, Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS). That remained the position till 1948 when the railways were nationalised.

the national archives has north staffs railway records under rail 532, dont seem to be searchable online (unless someone knows better)

they do say there is much about station staff there.

after 1923 I dont know but a stationmaster there in 1921 is likely still there under the LMS.
