Jarrow Cemetery, Brogdon Family Grave
« on: Saturday 13 October 12 14:57 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I wonder if there is anyone who would be able to establish if there is a headstone on a grave in Jarrow Cemetery please?

My great-grandfather and his two sons are buried in Section 9, no 283 of Jarrow Cemetery. My great-grandfather was Robert Fittis BROGDON, died 20 January 1933, aged 72. His two sons also buried in the same grave were Cyril Robert Brogdon, died 6 June 1924, aged 21 and Robert Frank Brogdon who died 26 March 1915, aged 5.

If anyone could help and let me know if there is a headstone in place I would be extremely grateful.

Regards

Joan

Hi,
I live not far from Jarrow Cemetery, I could go there and see what I can find for you.

Hi Joan,
My great grandmother was Sarah Jane Fittis, cousin to Robert Fittis Brogdon. Her father was John Fittis. Sarah Jane Fittis married James Milne and had 5 children. The youngest, Ethel Fittis Milne was my grandmother.
I have done some research on the family history but it's limited to names, dates, etc. I know nothing of my grandmother's personal family history. She was orphaned at the age of 10 and raised in a foster home. She then married and came to Canada so we know nothing of her life or family in England.
Would you have any knowledge of the Fittis family you would be willing to share with me?
Thank you
Janet

Hello Rae,
The following information is what I believe to be correct. I've copied and pasted from my tree on ancestry. I have verified most of it through birth, death and marriage certificates.
Please let me know if there's anything else or if you have additional information you can share.
Thanks!!
Janet

I think you may be referring to me. I'm not sure how to private message you my email address and I'm not sure I can post it here. It is *
My great grandfather was James Milne married to Sarah Jane Fittis. His father and my 2x great grandfather was James Milne married to Jean Galashan and his father (my 3x great grandfather) was James Milne married to Ann Ingram. They lived at Dykenook farm just outside of Premnay.

I would like to know more about the Milne family or to have pictures.
Thanks for reaching out.
Janet
