Thanks again King,  If ewblack can connect themselves in some way to that Thompson which I am almost certain they can then I have more of a chance to connect them to the area.  Maybe not to the Richmond side but the Thompson's are my lot so I might have a remote chance.
As best I know the Aikens are all but disappeared from the area
 
Isnt it an awful pity we didnt have this available to us 20yrs ago when all those who would remember were still around

I sounds as if my 2xg grandmother Ellen Thomson (Eleanor Tompson on her marriage) could be related in some way to your Adam Thompson.

I totally agree my parents were a wealth of information & stories about the families, I've got to go now with notes I've taken from aunts & uncles & what I could remember being told.
