I've heard it's just transcribed records with no actual images to view.

Is this true please?

I've had a good look on their site but it doesn't say exactly what you get for your money.

I couldn't say, when I had a look at their free trial it returned nothing on any relative serving in either world war (2 grandfathers, father, 2 uncles and mother in the WAAF). I since obtained details of one grandfather's service from Findmypast.

They say they are transcribing all the time and constantly adding new records. There appear to be a few collections which are not on FindMyPast or Ancestry. Not sure how much there is though. I have not looked for a while. The last ones I saw were transcriptions of some National Archives records which no one else seemed to have (other than National Archives of course)

McBride (Monaghan, Manchester), Derbyshire (Bollington,Cheshire), Knight (Newcastle,Staffs), Smith (Chorley, Lancs & Ireland), Tipladay (Manchester & Yorkshire) ,Steadman (Madeley,Shropshire), Steele (Manchester,Glasgow), Parkinson (Wigan, Lancashire), Lovatt, Cornes & Turner (Staffs) Stott (Oldham, Lancs). All ended up Ardwick, Manchester

Used it
and cancelled it

The information input is sparse to say the least and its not at all comprehensive
Found more info from FindMyPast and Ancestry combined as National Archives seem to split the two sites up as partner sites and thats that
