Merryman ontario

Hi,

Bit modern this one; I have been trying to trace the Merryman family who emigrated to Canada in 1952. I have found some of them on the 1968 voting list living in 199 Cathcart Street London West ON.
The family is;
Frederick Merryman b1913 Berwick England
Ellen Nee Swinney   b1914 Berwick wife
* Merryman b1933 *
* Merryman b1949 *
Frederick, Ellen and * were at the London address in 1968 but I can find no trace after this date.

The Ontario Cemetery Finding Aid shows Ellen Merryman buried in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, London Ontario.

Ellen died in 1978.  Here is a photo of her gravestone:

If you look closely you will also see that Fred's name is inscribed at the bottom of the stone: "Husband Fred 1904-1981."
(I'm not sure, though, why his stated date of birth is different from your information.)

You could perhaps contact the cemetery to see if they can provide you with precise death dates.  With these, you could then contact the library in London Ont. to request their obituaries.  These would quite possibly give the names and locations of their children, etc.

I am Fred and Ellen's granddaughter.  What information are you looking for?
I can confirm that they are both deceased, as is their daughter, Freda, who was my mother.
