James Park Bruce
« on: Wednesday 10 October 12 23:04 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find out about  a James Park Bruce. He was born on 10th May 1847, in Shetland, and was a medical student in Glasgow. He died on 30th May, 1871, but I'm not sure where, or what the cause of death was. His father was a landed proprietor, or laird, his name was John Bruce. I would like to know what the cause of his death was. I've tried searching Scotlands People, but without success. Perhaps he died in England. He would have been 24 years of age when he died.

This is the only death in England but age out by 2yrs and no middle name

Scotlands People shows one match for an 1871 death James Bruce born 1847 +- one year - have you viewed that entry?

There's a death notice in the Aberdeen Journal for 14 June 1871, page 4. It just says that he died in Glasgow on 30th ult, fourth son of John Bruce of Sumburgh, Shetland
