The couple show on the 1940 Census 5701 Cantaloupe - Los Angeles, California. Also states they were living in Los Angeles in 1935.

Wesley E Innes 63 years. Born England. Stationary Engineer.  Retail Bakery.
Nellie Innes 50 years. No Occ.

Occupation:- Eng D P B. Resides :-  Van Nuys.

Earliest Border Crossing that I came across was for Wesley E Inns - 1876 and aged 33 years, Port of arrival: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada  - December 1909.
Occupation:- Stationary Engineer. Last permanent address:- Prince Edward. Father Wesley Inns - Stratford Road. Halesowen. Birmingham.

Just noticed on the US Naturalization indexes - 3307165 -  Wesley Ernest Innes
(formerly Wesley Ernest Inns - so it looks as though he wanted to change the spelling of the surname)   Birth Date: abt 1878  Aged  52 years. W Pico Street address.
Court District: California  - Date of Action: 14 Feb 1930 - Petition 28356
