1861/71/91 census help please
« on: Saturday 28 May 05 23:26 BST (UK) »
Looking for John and Eliza King in any of the above census.

John was born c1815 Shepton Montague, Somerset and Eliza (nee Spratling) was born c1806 Brewham, Somerset.

Also Eliza's son Robert White (From previous marriage to George White) born c1833. Don't know where he was born (most probably Bruton-was christened here).

Can anyone help me?

Shannon

Hi Shannon,

There is a Robert White, 27 living in Islington on the 1861 census with his family.  He is listed as being born in Somerset...let me know if you want me to post the details.

Regards, Emma ;)

Hi Shannon,

30 Willington St, Islington

Robert White, Head, 27, Policeman?, Somersetshire
Helen White, Wife, 25, Somersetshire
Joseph White, Son, 1, Islington
John Proud?, Lodger, 40, Bengal Artillery Pensioner, Berks

RG09/136 Pg33

I'm reading Robert's occupation as Policeman, but all I can see is -liceman as there is a nice black line over the start of the word!!

Regards, Emma ;)
