BIRKENHEAD (LANDICAN) CEMETERY
« on: Tuesday 09 October 12 17:47 BST (UK) »
I am attempting to collect every Durham Light Infantry Headstone from 1939-47 and would appreciate any help in securing a photograph of the following headstone.
HERBERT SNAPE,
14258075 Private Herbert Snape who died on the 22nd April 1943 aged 26 his battalion was listed at the time as The 14th Durham Light Infantry.Herbert was the son of Alfred Henry and Emma Snape, of Birkenhead and the husband of Joyce Margaret Snape, of Birkenhead.

Grave Non-Conformist. Sec. 2. Grave 550.Cemetery;-BIRKENHEAD (LANDICAN) CEMETERY

Every photograph will be added to my website Durham Light Infantry 1920-46
under the section
http://durhamlightinfantry.webs.com/theirgunsnowsilent.htm
The aim is to collect together these Headstones/Memorials by clicking on the red links a photograph of that casualties headstone will appear in a new window and any family member or next of kin can save a copy free of charge.

My sincere thanks to all who have helped recently in these matters.
Best wishes
Jim

Hello -    I have a burial in St. Mary Birkenhead graveyard 1835 - for Joseph Watson Parry I have heard this is one of the graves plus headstone which was re-interred in Landican Cemetery - I think it was a 'flat stone'  -   could anyone help in finding the grave please. or has anyone seen it.
Also I wonder if there are grave registers available

Thank you Joan
