Any recomendations for a portable scanner?
« on: Tuesday 09 October 12 00:28 BST (UK) »
Hello all.

I'm sure this may get asked quite frequently so apologies in advance if an answer has appeared recently.  (I've tried looking back at previous postings as far as begining 2011 & can't find anything).

I'm looking to buy a scanner that I can take with my Dell laptop when visiting relatives so I can make copies of as many family photos as I can.
Can anyone recomend a make/model based on their own practical experience?

Many thanks

Patrick

We took it to a church and scanned the parish books, done photos as well and all came out fine after a few practise runs before we went. Images were sharp. software easy to install. Batteries lasted pretty well too.

Thoroughly recommend!

A friend of mine brought her 'mouse scanner' to show me. I was very impressed, you just scan by moving the mouse over whatever image you need. She got it from Ideal World, but I think you would be able to get them elsewhere. It would be very useful for scanning images which can't be moved etc., just scan in situ.

You will love it Carol!

You can scan flat on a table, or pictures, textiles or anything else that may be on a wall.

The way it joins up the image if larger than the scan bed is just magic!

Ideal for that situation. Also for those albums we all have where we placed the photo on sticky background and  covered with a plastic cover. They will not come out now. Just turn the Flip Pal over and they can be scanned no problem.

Just the price. I splashed out though as a treat. Do not regret it.
