Online Parish Clerk Ireland

I am trying to locate an online parish clerk for Cavan Ireland if such exists.  I am sure I saw on a post they do.  I am in contact with Cornwall OPC's and they are just terrific.  Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.  I am trying to find details of Thomas Deering and Jane Shields (Thomas born around 1824) and his parents Thomas Deering and a Sarah for which I have no details.  I believe the Deering's are from Urnley Cavan - at least Thomas Jnr is.  Kaye

Urney is in the parish of Annageliffe. You don’t say what denomination your ancestors were. If they were Church of Ireland then the following records have been copied and are held in PRONI, Belfast:

C.I. Annageliffe [sic Annagelliff] (Kilmore diocese) [Held with Urney]
Baptisms, 1804-1940; marriages, 1804-1946; burials, 1804-1915; vestry minutes, 1737, 1741, 1753-99 and   MIC1/239 1803-41.

Roman Catholic:

R.C. Urney and Annagelliffe [sic Annagelliff] (Kilmore diocese)
Baptisms, 1812-81; marriages, 1812-80.

I am not aware of anywhere that you can access them on-line.

I'm not aware of any such online resource either.

In case you aren't aware, there are 2 types of Irish parishes- civil and religious. Both the Church of Ireland (known as Established Church) and Roman Catholic churches have a parish system but other denomiations do not (Methodist churches are groups in Circuits and Presbyterian ones in Presbyteries,for example).

www.thecore.com/seanruad has 2 listings for Urney (not Urnley) in Co. Cavan-
1) Urney civil parish
2) Kilmore civil parish (Elwyn has posted details for church records)

Griffith's Valuation (1857) lists a John Deering and a Thomas Deering in Urney Parish (townland is Townparks).

Thank you for the info.  The Deerings were Roman Catholic at the time the immigrated to Australia so I can only assume generations before were so as well.
Thomas my great great grandfather was born in 1824 and I have his death certificate.  As his father would have been born before 1820 do you know if there is somewhere else that may hold these records or are they all lost or destroyed prior to this.  I have been told that you are luckier if you are researching County Cavan as it has many more retained documents than other counties. Maybe this is why my cousin's ex wife could not go back any further.  Kaye

I did find the Griffiths posting and printed a copy.  Whilst it could well be my Thomas Deering I cannot be sure.  I was hoping somehow I may also find siblings so that I may be able to piece things together that way.  I did come across a site that had only 3 Deering families living in Cavan in 1857 - the year two of the families immigrated to Australia.  It was interesting to note their were quite a number of Deerings in Ireland at this time, some counties had on 1 or 2 and others up to 18.  Kaye

Very few rural RC parishes have records prior to the 1820s. I would be surprised if this parish has any earlier records that are not mentioned on the PRONI site. I’d say you are unlikely to get back any earlier from church sources.
