Hi Sandra I know your post is a bit on the old side now , but, I just thought that I would let you know that I have the surname Hardy from Shardlow in my tree. The hardy's I have are John b1833 who married Sarah Ann (Richardson I think - just waiting for the certificate to arrive!) in 1862. They had two girls Ellen b1864 who (confusingly) married a George Morris in 1889, & Harriet (my Gt Grandmother) b1868 who married Francis Downing Jones in St Asaph, Rhyl in 1890. John was a Basket Maker, so was George Morris. At some time between 1881 Harriet, at least, must have moved to Rhyl as she has an address in that area on Harriet & Francis' marriage certificate, John was still a Basket Maker then. I know that water was a big part of life in Shardlow as there are many boatmen from that area & the address given was in an area in Rhyl called 'morfenbach' which I was told meant 'back of the marsh'. I have no occupation for Harriet, but, maybe she was involved in the basket making as well. In 1901 John & Sarah are still living at the family's old address in Barroon, Castle Doningtonso I don't know why Harriet ended up in Rhyl. I haven't gone any further back than John yet, but, should be able to once I get the marriage cert so I'll let you know if there's anything else that may interest you. Regards Mo
