Field of Mars Cemetery, Ryde, near Sydney
« on: Thursday 04 October 12 13:28 BST (UK) »
My Great Grandfather is buried in the Field of Mars Cemetery in Ryde, which is just outside Sydney.  I know he's buried in the Church of England section.  His name was Ernest Bradshaw and died in the 1920's.

If anyone is nearby this cemetery and could take a picture of his grave, I would be eternally grateful.

Many thanks!

Hi Sophies_mommy,
I live not too far away and would be happy to take a photo for you sometime this week.

I just hope I am not too klutzy - was waiting for someone else (more capable) to offer first.

regards,
  Ros

Hi Sophies_mommy,
I visited the cemetery today and took a few photos of Ernest's grave.  What a lovely old grave but sadly a little neglected.

If you pm me your e-mail address I can e-mail them to you.  In the meantime I will try to reduce the size so I can upload a couple of examples.

regards,
  Ros
The kind man at Field of Mars Cemetery (who helped me to find the grave) said the records will be online shortly!

Well apparently it was not a genuine request as Sophie's Mum had acquired photos elsewhere and didn't really need anyone to make a special trip to Field of Mars Cemetery to take photos of grave.

Yes silly me ...    ;D

Sorry to read your comments regarding photo, please do not feel let down.

The news you gave us about Field Of Mars being C of E coming on-line shortly, was fantastic, I cannot wait.  I have found the staff at the C of E office wonderful, I have been there are couple of times over the years and the Lady in the office had to check the great big old handwritten ledgers, so being on line will be a wonderful improvement.

Chin up

Cass
