Helman Tor
« on: Thursday 04 October 12 12:59 BST (UK) »
Hi
Family folklore tells me that my Helman side of the family came from the Totnes area,And that there is a tor named after the family. I have found the tor, but not if it is anything to do with my family, or why it is called Helman . Any help would be much appreciated. (if i have posted in the wrong category... sorry)

We used to stay with friends who had a good view of the Tor and climbed up to it a few times.

There is a useful link to the origins of the name on this link - http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/CORNISH/2002-03/1017112634
