COSGROVE lookup STAMP death/burial 1875-1881 - COMPLETED

Hi All.

Paul I have transcribed the M.I.'s for Cosgrove but can not find the file. 

I also have just looked through the graves I have of the Churchyard
for Thomas to no avail.

There were a lot of headstones on the Church wall covered by ivy totally unreadable.

Also may headstones in what most churchyard in our County seem to have now,
a conservation area for wildlife, and although I do try and get as many as
I can a lot are inaccessible.

If no one is able to assist before I can looking up the register I will see if I can
find any reference to Thomas.

- the Thomas Stamp mystery has remained just that for a long time. I keep having a go at it, every now and then, and have always drawn a blank.

Hi Paul.

I went to Cosgrove Church again this morning to see if I could pin point
any graves for the grandparents also to no avail.

The problem with the Parish Registers at the N.R.O. and Library, they only
hold up to 1877 for Burials so if Thomas died around that time we are okay,
if not maybe getting in touch with the Church maybe a good idea.

I went to the Library this afternoon and the Local Studies area was closed  .

It seems to be constantly closing without warning and if you telephone to the
Library itself you get a call centre who then call the Library and most of the
time they say they are engaged and could you call back later.

Okay managed to look at the register today and as there was a daughter
born in 1876 and only one burial noted for 1877 I did not find Thomas's
taking place in Cosgrove so asking the Vicar would be the best option
now.

Also in case anyone else may be following the family.

The children of Thomas and Anne were William who seems to
not be seen after 1871 unless of course I am wrong.

Sarah Ann married Ebenezer Butcher in 1896 at Cosgrove

Ellen married Frederick Albert Green also of Cosgrove in
1895 at Cosgrove and moved to Willesdon, London.

Robert Henry married Edith C Corner at Wolverton in 1899
and moved to Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

Kate married George Standen in 1903 and lived in Pembury, Kent.

Hi Paul.

I just wanted to add that when I was at Cosgrave the other day a
lovely lady asked what I was doing in the Churchyard and we got
talking especially about the graves that were totally in-accesible in the
lower area of the Churhyard.

The lady gave me her phone number and I arranged to met her yesterday
(at her home, bless her) and she showed me all the recordings that
had been done of the churchyard , un-believable recordings showing
height, width etc besides the inscriptions.

After spending 2˝ hours and a cup of tea I came away with images of
all the information available. I am now trying to get them into some
sort of order as they were 17gbs of black & white
images and need to be cropped, greyscaled, lightened, re-numbered etc.

We in return helped her with some queries she had with her computer.

Therefore I would like also to thank you as without you wanting the
info about Thomas I more than likely would not have gone back to
Cosgrove.

If I should find anything in this information to help further with your
request I will let you know.
