Hi
I have just found some Stamps on the FREEREG site in Harlestone that have helped to extend my line back two extra generations. However, I would be really grateful for some clarity on the following, as I don't know how accurate the transcriptions are:
1. The registers only seem to have Stamp baptisms starting in 1721 - is this because there are no earlier recordings, or are the earlier registers incomplete/hard to read? I am particularly interested in finding the birth of Edward Stamp, victualler approx. 1690-1700.
2. I have found that Alice Stamp (nee Kestin(s) was licensee of the Fox and Hounds, Harlestone in 1767, but there is a burial for an Alice Stamp in 1761 - however it mentions her husband being a farmer, whereas he was a victualler, her son was a farmer. Could someone check the details for me please? Do the burials have ages recorded?
3. Are there any Stamps mentioned in the registers after 1783? This is the last entry (burial) on FREEREG?
Basically, I am interested in mention of the Stamps in the registers. I have so far established that all the Stamps in Northamptonshire from this period are linked to the same family. They are all ancestors of mine so I would be extremely grateful for any information, as I am not based near enough to access the registers.
Thank you
Paul Stamp
