Then wee mammy suggested Vikki Carr.
Then LizzieW said “She’s American”. That was 20 minutes after wee mammy wrote, so I assume Lizzie was replying to w.m.
Then Treetotal quoted Lizzie, as if Lizzie had replied to Treetotal.

Certainly looks a lot like the actress/singer Shirley Jones. She was in the film "The Music Man" around this time.

I don't think so, the eyes are wrong.  Looking at the original photo, the lady has more almond shaped eyes.  Shirley Jones has rounder eyes.

I think its just the angle of the older photo, and the lighting. She may be squinting a bit. Also the photo K posted is ~ 10 years later. If you look at photos of her from the correct time frame it looks  like her. Of course, she is not British, but nobodys perfect ;-)
