I am the Grandaughter of Doris Harwood, who is still alive and living in Elvetham. I have grown up in Hartley Wintney.

Thanks, both;  have only just received messages.
Charles Harwood did mary Hannah Maynard;  one son was William, about 1825, whose son Edward (1862) was my grandfather.
Fred Harwood, Lomans Hill, was my grandfather's brother, his wife Sue was my grandmother's sister.  I met great-aunt Sue at Lomans Hill during the war, when my mother and I stayed with the Heathers family at Streetend, near aunt Win (Mrs. Levesconte, aunt Sue's daughter).
I now live in the Isle of Wight, where my aunt Rose lived;  after her husband died, uncle Son joined her, and I believe he was one of Fred's children.  Would you know, by any chance?

Kind regards,   Edna

I will speak to Nan and ask her. She grew up in the house on Loman's hill with her mum Ada and her dad. I will ask his name as I'm not sure, he had a nickname that I know but I'll find out. My nan is one 3, her brothers are Charles and Eric. She lives round the corner from Lomans hill now, she told me the original house she was in isn't there anymore. My friend is the farmer on Elvetham Farm so he takes me there sometimes :) I will speak with her today and find out

Good!  I am told there were two Freds, one known as John.  There was also Freddy, Doris's younger brother.  Doris would be about 75 (?) now, Freddy 72 (?).  They were both at Elvetham School, which probably doesn't exist anymore.  Mrs. Anderson, the head teacher, lived across the crossroads and Mr. Utting(?) lived next door to the school, the old schoolhouse.  I think he was farm bailiff, or factor, or something similar.
Did you know there was a Connie Harwood in Hartley Wintney?  She would be about 80, were she still alive.
Rude question:  do you have the family's red hair?  Win, my father's favourite cousin was known as "Ginger Win"!!

"Uncle Son" lived with my Aunt Rose after her husband died (1920s?);  he was her cousin and I think he was a Harwood from Lomans Hill.  He had lived with my grandparents (Edward and Mary Ann Harwood) in Hartley Wintney before that.
One of the Lomans Hill Harwoods was reistered blind and made baskets at the cottage, another had a damaged right arm and moved to Portsmouth.  Can anyone identify any them, please?

Hi All

MARY ANN DENTON  and SUSAN DENTON were sisters and daughters of MICHAEL DENTON and LUCY GOULD. MICHAEL was the brother of THOMAS DENTON my GGGrandfather and they were sons of JOHN DENTON and SARAH COTTERELL.

The ELSON family of Elvetham are also my ancestors and a couple of them married into the HARWOOD family.
