There's an Annie Caffery listed in the 1938 electoral roll as living at 49a Corporation place.
Corporation place was known locally as 'Corporation Buildings' or just 'The Buildings'.
They survived until the 1970s.
Here's some late photos of them before demolition.

I'm afraid not. She's listed as the only voter at that address.
I don't find a James Caffery listed anywhere in the Dublin City area. Perhaps he was not living with her by then.

Here is the link to see the 1938 roll: http://www.dublinheritage.ie/electoral_rolls/index.htm
plus also information on other rolls held by the library.

It might be worth a quick email to them to check some other years. I have always found the staff there very obliging and given that your request is a straight check on an address, they might have time to do it for you.

There's a James Caffery listed as buried in Glasnevin having died in 1932 aged 66 - could he be something to you?

Yes ill defo give them an email, as really struggling with this family tree. My granny who is 85, doesn't remember much about her mum & dad anymore so cant really ask her.  Is Glasnevin in Dublin, this may be him as I know he did die when my granny was little but just not sure how old she was.  If it was him she would have been 5 so could be him if Glasnevin is in Dublin?

May I suggest if she is willing to talk about others that you let her and see what comes of it

I have found that some conversations that start about describing an area or family can lead to what you want rather than asking specific questions
e.g. I was discussing an ancestor with a relative, I had most of the information on him but I let the conversation go on about where he lived and what he did etc when in the middle of it all I was told that "of course your know his youngest sister was his daughter" This I was not aware of! but I said yes and got blow by blow a whole story I know would never have come out had I just asked the question straight out!
While you have your granny just ask her what she can tell you and let her talk if she likes to; you'd be amazed at what may come of it!

I do, I dont really ask her specfic questions but she is not very well now and gets a lot of stories confused or mixed up we could just be chatting about one person then she will go onto a completely different person from another family, sometimes not even our own!  ???

Yes Glasnevin is in Dublin and would be the main graveyard for people from the north inner city in those days.
http://www.glasnevintrust.ie/genealogy/

If you go to the reference for the Electoral Rolls, you will get a page from the actual roll, which will give you names of neighbours in 'The Buildings' which might trigger something in her memory.

I think this could be him, I will need to try and find out if this was his age when he died.  In my home town of Perth, Scotland.  We are able to email our cemetery service with a date of death and name and they are able to tell me where the person is buried and who they are buried with do you think this would be something that the glasnevin trust would do?

Thanks
