From you other thread it looks likely that James William and Caroline were born to Charles' wife Margaretta, who died in 1870, rather than to Emma who appears in the family in the 1871 census:

Yes, that is the 1871 household - but it appears (as per your other thread) that Emma was a recent addition to the household, Charles' wife Margaretta having died late in 1870.

This should really be on your other post but the only way to confirm who Caroline's parents are is to buy the birth certificate or find a christening for her.
