Glenalina, I can't see any reference to a Nazareth Lodge on the Falls Road up to the 1918 Belfast street directory - all references to the Sisters of Nazareth 'til then are for other areas, including the Ormeau Road Home. Unless they set up something from 1919-1925...

Belfast District Birth record: 14th Sep 1916 at 15 Merrion Street. Sarah born to Mother Elizabeth Kane, A Spinner. No father recorded. Informant Mary O'Donnel, Occupier at 15 Merrion Street.

There was no father listed on the civil birth and the mother didn't list a maiden name. Perhaps her husband was deceased or away fighting in the War?

Hope that helps.
David

Hi bertie27
You are a gem with this, elizabeth kane is my great gran mother and my gr gran father died in 1913 sarah is surposed to have lived for only four months. By the way elizabeths maiden name was odonnell mary was her sister,my gr gran mother died just over 2 weeks after sarahs birth.
