Goodness! I've been a member for less than 24 hours and already I've found out things I didn't know.  What a wonderful link.  Thank you everybody who replied about my great-grandmother Frances Peel.

It's a while since I called Rootschat so have just seen your entries, etc.  I'm looking for Thomas Richardson, born Walker, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland c1895.  1911 Census shows him 16 years, living with his family in Gateshead, Durham as a driver, coal miner.  His parents were Matthew Richardson (b.1864, Sacriston, Durham) & Caroline Louisa Marshall (b.1873, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire). Any connections?
Gordon

Hello Gordon,
I do have a Thomas Richardson born Walker c1895, miner, but his parents were Thomas Richardson and Frances Peel [my gg-grandparents].  They lived at 6 White Street, Heworth, Gateshead.  In fact all my ancestors were miners and all came either from Northumberland or Gateshead, with the exception of my gg-grandmother who came from Flinthsire in Wales.  Thomas's siblings were William, John Peel [my grandfather], Edith, Adlade & George.  So it doesn't look like we are from the same family. Sorry I can't be of more help.  Good luck in yojr search.
June
