16, Ella Road, Thorpe Hamlet, Norwich, Norfolk.

I have an ancestor who immigrated to South Africa and then booked a passage back to visit family in Thorpe Hamlet. I would like to know who he visited at 16 Ella Road, Thorpe Hamlet, in 1935. It may have been married sisters so the name could be anything , one I know was Alice and  Arthur Johnson, but there were others unknown to me.  If anyone can look up the Electoral register for 16 Ella Road in 1935, or any other means of finding who lived there, I would be most grateful for their help. I have tried other methods but no luck I am afraid. THanks for trying.

and  Hilda age 16.
Did they all go to South Africa ??

Finding the definite link to 16 Ella Road confirms my hopes that Ernest Edward born 1888 who emigrated to SA was definitely the son of Ernest Edward born 1858.
Only  Ernest E emigrated and in 1935 came back with his family to visit 16 Ella Road, but until I could find who he visited I was no convinced that I had the right family. This has done just that and now I can take the history right back in the UK with this family. It may have been his ageing parents who still lived there in 1935 or even a sibling, but the fact that you have found evidence that it was his family home in 1911 has helped me link the South African Filbys to the Norfolk Filbys.
