There is a marriage of a Catherine Nuttall to a James Penney in 1919 and a birth of a James A G Penney in 1919 and then a Lawrence Penny in 1921 with mothers maiden name Conway in bury. that's a starting place at least.

Hello Tabs,

We have been intouch before and I do remember Auntie Mary (my Mothers Cousin who we called Auntie) she lived in the same row as my Grandfatehr Giles Nuttall brother of both Herbert & James Nuttall.  I also have the book Lost Lads of St Joseph's there is some good information in there about both men.  I met up last year with Wendy, Rodney, Judy & Jim.

Hi Brian,

Sorry I have only just seen your post and yes I think we have a connection.  I think that Thomas would have been my Grandfathers Nephew, I am pleased to find out what happened to Herbert's Son.  If you look back on this topic you will see that "tabs" is also a distant family member and lives  not far away. I will send you a PM  I have a lot of information on the Nuttall family if you want it.
