I should know ... never had this situation before
« on: Tuesday 18 September 12 02:54 BST (UK) »
James Killick bachelor of Southwark married Elizabeth Rose (a widow of Coulsdon Surrey) at Southwark Nov 20 1793.
Would Rose have been her maiden name or was it from her former marriage.?

I thought that but they are normally a fs not ff.  But that would make it Ross not Rose, just to bear in mind when looking for a previous marriage.  ;D

I'll go with that Dave and thank you very much.
William Roffe married Elizabeth Mitchell 1785 and appears to have had his last child Patience 1792 so it is probable that the William who died 1793 was the husband of Elizabeth and not the child William born 1785.
Mary Killick child of James and Elizabeth Rose (Rofe or whatever) were married at St Saviours Southwark fits well there and their daughter Mary married my 4th ggf Joshua Twitchin at St Mary's Lambeth Oct 7 1816.
Great Stuff,
Joe
