RISCUT MILL

Does anyone know of a " Eros? Riscut (Riscub?) Mill in the parish of St Martins Denbigh" which was flourishing in 1828 under Edward Hughes? I am trying to locate such a place named in a Settlement Examination.

Could the place you are looking for possibly be in St Martins Shropshire?St Martins lies between Oswestry and Chirk.

 There was either a man named Minshall or a man named Baynes, living at Escob Mill St Martins .

You might be able to locate it in the census.

In 1841 it is known as Erw Escob(or Erew Esgob) Mill and occupied by Sarah Hughes(farmer and miller) and family

Perhaps she is Edward's widow.His will of 1830 is available at the National Library of Wales website
