William Robson

Trying to confirm William Robson b29 June 1856 in Jedburgh (Fa Adam 1832-1874, Mo Helen /Ellen Mabon 1833-1893) is the man below:

Some of his siblings moved to Wooler, Northumberland and in the 1891, 1901 census I find a Rbt, Mary, Robert Chisholm and family in Humbleton, Northumberland.

A Mary Chisholm had an illigitimate boy Robert B Dec 1878 in Smailholme, Roxburghshire.

A William Robson married a Mary C in 1885 in Glendale.

Cannot find any of them in 1881 (apart from Robert with grandparents in Yetholm, Rox)

I found all his siblings on FamilySearch giving the exact parents you quoted. I found 8 children there.

Then I searched for Williams brother Adam in the census as it it a more uncommon forename..

I found him with his mother, William and 4 sisters at 91 Castlegate, Jedburgh ROX on the 1881 census.

William is a mason
Ellen his  mother is a former domestic servant, she is head of household so expect Adam senior is dead.

You can confirm relationships (her widowhood)  by downloading the original census from Scotlands People.

Not sure where these Chisholms come into your family, other than one married a Wm Robson.

After 1881 Wm seems to disappear again or he has changed job to shepherd and he's living with an Elen Smails his housekeeper in Heddshope East, Woodside, par of Elsdon

Only Hall link I have at the moment is George Robson (1836-1878) and a Jane Hall (1834-1863).   George born Roxburghshire Fa Archibald Mo Margaret Little.   Jane Fa Thomas and Mo Isabella Brown

Sorry no direct hit on my lot...but strange thing is that my sister in law...wife's brother's wife has an Ida Park LITTLE born abt 1864 Victoria Australia whose parents were Edward Alfred LITTLE m Jane SANDERSON
My notes on Ida are "Note death registration under maiden name of LITTLE - age shown as 73 so dob about 1864"
Ida had married William Jones LANGFORD died South Africa Boar war.
Can chase more if you are interested but where Edward / SANDERSON were from would require me to ask sister in law etc etc
