Hi Rosemary. I'm a direct descendant of William Lewis. I have been unable to find a baptism for Jane Baxter, William Lewis or Ann Hardy. I'm confused about Ann Slack though. If I can help. Please let me know. I believe Charlotte may have been Janes daughter as Jane died very young .

Many thanks for getting in touch.  I'm undertaking the research of behalf of a friend.  William Lewis is his great, great, great grandfather.  Do you happen to have any information on Joseph Lewis born 1846, Francis Lewis born 1877 or James Lewis born 1913?
Best wishes,
Rosemary

I'm really curious to who that is now. Joseph's son William is my great grandfather. Joseph was born 1846, to Anne Hardy and William Lewis at Mansfield Notts. baptised Feb 23 1846. Married Ruth Varley 1865 Christmas day.At Stavely.Joseph was 19. Ruth was 20.Ruths father was Luke Varley.
Joseph and Ruths children were

John Lewis (1860-)

William Lewis (1866-1941) (My great grandfather.

Mary Lewis (1870-)

George Lewis (1871-)

Esther Lewis (1875-)

Frank Lewis (1877-)

Annie Lewis (1878-)

Henry Lewis (1880-)

Jasper Lewis (1886-1909)

Martha Lewis (1889-)

The only Frances I know about is Fanny Lewis 1901. Who was my grandfathers sister . She also had a sister called Ruth. Apart from the 1912 census we have no record of either of them they just seem to have disappeared.
The only James I can find is a James H Lewis born 1900 from Stavely.Father Walter Lewis born 1875.
I have been searching for William Lewis birth, Baptism but to no avail.I do know he died in Eckington 9/7/1860. he was survived by Anne.
Later on in history I have an uncle Charles Henry who died in world war 2 . He was the son of William Joseph's son.
Hope this helps and Merry Christmas.  :)

Hello!

Joseph's son Frank and my Francis are one of the same! Frank married Fanny Vallance and they had a son James b. 1913 who married Joyce Barker. I am trying to find out all I can about them and at the moment I haven't got very far! It is their grandson that I am doing the research for.

I'll continue with the research after the holidays.

Happy Christmas
Rosemary
