Interpreting medal card

Here is the medal index card for my Great Uncle William Henry Walker. I think I know what most of it means now, except for the bit in 'Remarks'. Please can any of you tell me what

Dis (or Dir?) 392 XVI might mean?

He was discharged as unfit for service on the 1917 date
It's paragraph 16 of kings regulations Part 392

He will have an entry on the silver war badge lists on ancestry too.
It was for wounds and he enlisted in Jan 1915 he was also a lance corporal.

Would the Ancestry list have any other info on it, or is it just a list of names? We have FindMyPast and not Ancestry!

It gives date of enlistment and discharge whether served overseas wounds or sickness and swb badge number no other info.
I'll post the badge number later you have the other info

Silver War Badge Number 234128.

So discharged from Infantry on 25/8/1917, seems he must of then re enlisted in the Labour Corps

Thank you very much for this, Ady and rac1473. William Henry's personal records seem to be missing ('burnt' I guess), so it is really useful to have these bits of information. He also got  Military Medal, and I have a copy of that card and the War Diary where it was reported. I am wondering if he got the medal at the same time he was wounded, and I will look into that via some war diary copies I have.

I am wondering if you would be so kind as to have a look at his brother's medal card - Joseph James - this will be the last one, I promise. You may notice they both went to France on the same day. Again, it is the 'remarks' that I don't understand. Also' W.O.Bl.II' - ? Joseph also was mentioned in despatches at the same time as William, and he also got  Silver War Badge, so I am thinking he too must have been wounded.

Both men survived and had lives after the war, I am pleased to report.

Thank you, Diplodicus. I am piecing together these two brothers' stories, and every little bit helps. I think this was a most remarkable generation - two other brothers played professional rugby league, which I am also digging into.
