Entries on Family Search - Dorking

I have found several entries of a family which I believe to be mine, but I am a little confused.  They are all straightforwardly stated to be at 'Dorking', but then they are on there again and each one seems to be a little different.  I believe the family came from Capel, but there are names in the second set such as Nutfield, Marsh, Gibbs, Rushett.  The film seems to be a Non-conformist register in the RG6 series, so could someone explain to me please what these differences actually mean.   I am also looking for the marriage of John Edwards and Susannah - whose death I found on 8th March, 1788 of Capel - the parents in question.

I am also looking for the marriage of their son James Edwards circa 1806 whose wife was Hannah on the 1841 Census, but she may have been a second wife, of course, and this could have been in Ifield as their son Peter was born there (whose baptism I can't find either)

I am sorry if this is rather long-winded, but I have absolute confidence that some very capable person has the answer I am looking for, or at least can point me in the right direction.

One side of my family came from the Dorking district, it covers a large area.  These places could be villages, but I've never heard of them.  I agree with Gaie, if you give more details it would help.

Also Edwards is a common name in Surrey, as another side of my family are Edwards and they come from Surrey.

I'm afraid this means nothing to me. so does not help with what you are looking for.

RG6 are a class of records held at the National Archives and available on the BMD registers site

They relate to BMD records from Monthly or quarterly meetings of Quakers

Thanks to all who have replied to my query.  It was of help to know that the records film RG6 are Quaker records.  I suspected as much and therefore have worked out that those births I have found were recorded, as stated, quarterly at Dorking.   The other set which matched exactly but had different names must have another obscure reason.  So don't worry anyone.

They were culled from Family Search as I said in my subject heading.   The marriage I found, again from a RG6 film was of John Edwards marrying 19th March 1777, Dorking.  But again, as stated, there were lots of Edwards around in Surrey and Sussex so without knowing who exactly he married I can't claim that record.  The mother in the baptisms was stated to be Susannah Edwards.

I am assuming that John Edwards did marry a Susannah and thereafter in the next few years they were having children registered as having been born, because I don't think the Quakers baptised children.

I will have to go to the PRO it seems to look at the films myself.

I have now paid to look on the BMD site and found the marriage entry I thought was my ancestors.  John Edwards married Susannah Chandler on the 19th March 1777, Dorking which confirms that the entries for births I found in the Dorking register were their children.  They are Quaker records, and it would seem that those other references tagged on to the entries on Family Search were as someone suggested villages or hamlets.  John is stated to be of Nutfield on his marriage, and Susannah of Ifield.  I also paid to find the death of Susannah in 1788, and she was buried in Capal Society of Friends burial ground.

Just as a warning to fellow researchers trying to use the site above for which you have to pay to 'view' records, I paid for 10 credits and thought they would be sufficient, but annoyingly I looked at one entry for which I had to pay 1 extra credit and therefore had to pay for another 10 credits in order to look for my other queries because it uses 5 credits per view of page, more for full entry.   It appears to be a very helpful site if you know the names and dates and areas you are looking for.   I couldn't find the marriage of son James Edwards, so am assuming he did not profess to be a Quaker, but neither can I find him elsewhere, so if anyone can help me to find him marrying about 1804/6 in the Ifield area of Sussex, then I would be very grateful for your help.   I hope the foregoing is of some assistance to other reserchers.
