Rescued - Ernest Norman Marks (Melbourne)
« on: Saturday 08 September 12 16:42 BST (UK) »
Hi All,

I found Ernest in a box of photos on a stall at a craft fair and couldn't resist him. I would love to give him a good home with a descendant if we could find one.

Thanks Jenn,

Excellent sleuthery!

So that puts the date of the photo at about 1890. Do we have any details about the photographer Stewart & Co. working at 42 Bourke St. East at that time? Just to confirm.

Is there any hope of finding a marriage for him?

Paul

Paul,  did you  find the photo in  England?

I found a connection  that  might prove why  that was

Irene Hannah  Marks married
Donald Ellis Henochsberg   who  was born in  London  and died  there  and so  did Irene

the couple  married in  England in  the third quarter of  1924

Stewar & Co  were  photographers in  Melbouren  there are plenyt of adds  for them in  the online old newspapers
