The first few times on Rootschat can be a bit daunting for some people.
In the beginning (2004) it was a lot easier as we didn't have the sheer mass of topics and replies. As of writing we have just under
4 Million postings so we need a structured layout to make it easier to find topics of interest.
But don't worry about that for the moment, just bear these two points in mind:
1) To
start a topic:
- Either go to the board where you wish to post, or,
If you are not sure where best to post, simply go to the
Beginners board- click on the button
at the top or bottom of the page, and
- ask your question

If the moderators feel your topic will get more coverage on a particular board, then they will move it to that board.
2) To
reply to any topic,
- just click on the
-Button at the beginning or end of any topic
You can find helpful information to most questions in the

-Pages.
If you can't find an answer to your question(s) there, just start a new topic on
the "How to use Rootschat" board:
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/board,287.0.htmlRootschatters are generally very friendly and helpful, so don't worry about it, if you feel your contribution is not 100% perfect - we all learnt here "by doing" :)
By the way, we don't have an "official"
site-map of the various boards, but here's a good way of finding out what we have:
- Just click on the
-Button at the top of every page.
The search page shows a list of all the available boards and sub- or child-boards.
