Thanks Leen. I knew it was a tall ask. I have records to prove my grandfather's details (he died in 1973) and I have photographs of their wedding, etc and their daughter but nothing else. I don't know really where to start with this and finding the region, etc.

I've just found some details on the back of one of the photographs which reads:
Daenen Dieudonne
Photofilmeur
181 Rue des Guides
Seraing

So, this may be the area where my grandfather was living when he married.

 I don't know if this source, (which indicates he was a Canadian soldier), is  part of your own research, or is someone else's, his Canadian Army records should be traceable, and may even contain a marriage record!

O, great.  I just wanted to ask you about the photos.  Seraing is a city in the  Province Liege. There is a big chance that they are married there.  The best thing you can do is send an mail to the public service in Seraing in which you explain what your looking for and what information you have.  The email address is on their  website.  http://www.seraing.be/-Civil-status-and-burials-.html?lang=en

I found someone else who had been looking for Allan/Alan Clyde Robertson, but the case is marked 'Solved'.

A fisherman/seaman who calls himself John (Adriaan) Neetesonne in later censuses first appears in the British census in 1861 as John Newtson. He claims to have been born in Antwerp in about 1835.
Is he likely to have been Jan Neetesonne or Joannes Neetesonne (or neither)?
