barryd have you read the links on the thread?  His body was found.  Perhaps his surname was mistranscribed.  I have a number of ancestors whose deaths, according to the online indexes, were not registered, however I have photos of their headstones and newspaper reports of their deaths.  Perhaps a search of the local records office would be worth while.  

Peter I realise you have researched your man thoroughly and wondered if you have transcribed newspaper item  wherein George is reported as Dr HUTCH.

The Will of the George Edmond Farncomb Hatch formerly of Dartmouth Hill Lewisham in the County of Kent but late of Farnham Royal near Slough in the County of Buckingham deceased who died on or about 26 October 1859 in Moelfra Bay Anglesey was proved at the Principal Registry by the oath of Martha Hatch of Farnham Royal aforesaid widow the relict and the sole executrix.

As I said in one of the earlier postings to "barryd" there was still plenty more to Dr. George and his Family that I did know of and although I didn't say exactly what it was, the Will for him and the Will for his wife Martha were known to me.  I do sincerely thank you, though and am sorry that I wasn't more specific, but in trying to keep my messages as brief as possible, I guess sometimes it doesn't help.

Yes I thought you probably had his Will but did you have the Probate Grant? 

Did you have the transcribed news report from the Old Mersey Times...

I checked a few of the names of the victims that are published and could not find any death registrations. They should have been in the Anglesey Registration District DEC QTR 1859 or even MAR QTR 1860. There are some unmarked graves in the Churches of Llanallgo and Pentraeth. I would imagine an unmarked grave also means no death registration.

Hi Cando.  Yes I have seen the Probate Grant.  It was less than 600 British Pounds.  I don't remember if I have read the transcribed report from the Old Mersey Times though.  I have seen numerous newspaper  reports on the shipwreck and barryd, it was in one of these reportings that I saw that Dr. George was buried in the Church grounds near where the wreck occurred.  His body was identified by one or more of the survivors and I also know that Martha was in dire financial difficulties for some time until his Will was settled.  I would still like to obtain a copy of the tribute to Dr. George that was delivered a couple of years ago, though.

It is quite possible the article was published by a history group.  A number of articles published in Aus on the Royal Charter...try google.
