Thing is, would their ancestors have been from this area?!

Chris Hoy would be the obvious choice for here (Edinburgh) - his parents and other relatives still live nearby. Gail Porter (tv presenter) went to Portobello High School so she might be interesting too. I think Ewan Bremner (Trainspotting actor) also grew up round here and Phil Cunningham (folk musician and composer) too.

My nan reckons we r related to Dave Hill...I think thats his name...but Im not sure how, I think its through a cousins marraige to his cousin or something very tenuous lol x

I guess from my home town (Reading), it would have to be be Catherine Elizabeth Middleton (Duchess of Cambridge),Kate Winslet, Mike Oldfield, Chris Tarrant or Sam Mendes.

My favourite would probably be Chris Tarrant.

Another option would be Ricky Gervais - but I for one would have to turn off the telly  >:(

The area where I now live has one claim to fame in recent history – the last death from bubonic plague in Britain happened here in 1910 :'(

Probably not quite what you had in mind, but I can’t think of any famous people from East Suffolk – feeling quite deprived now :(

Carol, my OH comes from Suffolk and would suggest Bernie Ecclestone who was born in Bungay.

I would like to see Bob Mortimer & Chris Rea on WDYTYA representing Cleveland.
