Hello cousin.  You are talking about my grandfather and grandmother, William W. Hamilton and Anne Shannon Hamilton.  As I type, I am sitting beside a large collection of family memories all enclsoed in I believe Sara's steamer chest.  If I didn't have to go to work I would type allot more.  By the way, when my grand parents got to Sca.. Canada he worked in the lumber industry for a short while then they immigrated to Erie PA where my father was born, William Jr..  He was there only child.  My grand parents have quite a colorful history.  If I am not mistaken, family lore can be a bit clouded, it was your grandfather who my grandfather buit the first Model T or so he would have the first car in town. if I am not mistaken your grandfather was a barister who worked for his father who was in charge of all social services in County Down.  All of the dates of marriage, travel, ect. match up.  I am very excited to meet someone from the Hamilton family.  I always knew that there had to be someone out there!  In as much that this is the first time I have ever used this web site and may never be able to find it again.  Please feel free to use my email, (*).  My grandfather was a skilled tradesmant at GE until he retired, yours was a barister.  From the writing of his that I have found it appears the reason for this is that my grandfather was dyslexic, unfortunetly this gene found it's way to me as well.  My spelling is not the American way of spelling words.  It is just misspelled.  I look forward to hearing from you.

Respectfully,

Bill Hamilton

I've replied to Bill separately - I knew there were relatives out there somewhere!    If and when I find out more information about the connections between the various strands of the Banbridge Hamilton family, I'll post more details here.
