thanks Steve. This is the right family. Arthur John Medus was William Foley's son in law and Henry Seymour Foley his son. They lived at 20 Layard Street for many years.

You have lots of information :) would you by chance be able to check the parents of Edward Victor Foley born 24-aug-1919 in Camberwell?  they should be William John Walter Foley (William's son brother to Henry Seymour Foley) and Ethel Dais(e)y Wood. I have ordered the certificate to be sure.

Thanks again, you've made my day!

Emma

From the birth index for Edward V. Foley in 1919 Camberwell.  The mothers maiden name is WOOD.   So I would think that's your man.

I also think he passed away in Sutton district in Oct. 1994.

thanks everyone.

Can someone lookup the following for me (I believe they are all children of Letitia Folly):

Joseph Folly born 21 Feb 1842 in Stokenchurch
Daniel John Folly born 14 Jan 1845 in Stokenchurch
Susannah Folly born Dec 1852 in Stokenchurch

thanks to Steve for finding William Witney-Folly born 1847 to Abraham Witney (Blind from birth) and Letitia Folly. Abraham never married.

Thanks
Emma

Baptisms in OxFHS - Stokenchurch PR CD  only go up to 1837.      BucksFHS can do a single person search for £1 online.

Aston Rowant was a parent parish to Stokenchurch, so I'll have a peek there. :)

EDIT:  No luck in Aston Rowant. :(

I used to go to school in Princes Risborough, with a James Folley.     He was born about 1952/1953.   I'm almost sure he was from Bledlow, or maybe Kimble, Bucks. ;D

There is a photo somewhere, of him in the Princes Risborough School Hockey team. ;)
