Fletchers Buildings, Chester
« on: Friday 31 August 12 20:02 BST (UK) »
An ancestor's death certificate from 1856 indicates the place of death as "Fletchers Buildings, Bridge Street Rows Chester". I believe that Fletchers Buildings may have actually been in what is now Lower Bridge Street. Is anyone able to confirm this and is there currently any shop or other building on the site of where Fletchers Buildings was ?

Fletcher's Buildings was on the east side of Bridge Street Row between numbers 27 & 29, in the 1914 Directory they were occupied by the Chester Chronicle, see http://www.historicaldirectories.org/hd/ . On Google Street View, http://goo.gl/maps/O2kJt  Brasserie Gerrard is at Number 29, French Connection 25.

I just discovered my 2*great grandmother (Ann Phoenix) was the proprietor of a boarding-house at this address (listed in 1865 City Directory).
I realise necro-posting may be frowned upon, but I'd just like to add my thanks to stanmapstone for providing a location.
