He was a painter on one of the later ones wasn't he?

1861 - is down as a painter and glazier independent in Oswestry RG9/1878/70/27 *

Married to an Emeline - check for a death.

* added - also I see Primitive Methodist Preacher in squeezed writing underneath

Yes - saw all that earlier!

I'm thinking that there was some kind of marriage breakdown as I can't find a marriage between Amelia (variations) and Thomas Hollis and no death for William (his father is there but not him)

These things did happen  :-\

Agree, but why decide to change your age by approx 8 years why not 5 etc from 1881 onwards?
But I am leaning to it must be him!

HI everyone, wow, so great that you are all offering to help!  The other William is my direct ancestor and he had quite a few children including Samuel, Joseph, William (My ancestor) Christiana, Sarah and a few children who died as babies.  This is why it is so odd...he doesn't fit but we are 100% positive he is a relative.  Aaaarrrrgggh!!!

Hi again, only just realized that there were two pages!!  Yes William married Amelia Agnes Thompson, they separated when Amelia went to prison in 1863.  He died in 1866.  Catherine (My ggggmother), Matthew, Louisa, William, Henry were children of theirs.  Amelia then took up with Thomas Hollis (they never married) and had three more children to him.  She died in 1908.

Every single Fitzgerald in Oswestry I can connect except for this fellow.  I have no idea where he came from or who his parents were.  Do you think I should order that death certificate if we think it's him?

Thank you everyone so much for helping me, you are completely wonderful :)
