Hi,
Sadly, a baptism and a death of Robert Jack, son of Robert Howard Jack and Annie Russell
Robert was born Jan. 6, 1918, witnesses were Harriet Russell, Frederick Russell and he died
June 28, 1920, witnesses Frederick Russell and Charles Gagne.
Montreal Gazette June 29, 1920, page 4, top of the page, so very tragic.
Child killed from fall from window
Falling from the first story window Robert Jack age 2 years suffered a fractured skull and later
died.

Oh that is awful. I feel really quite upset by this and surprised that no one in the family over here ever mentioned it. Nelly corresponded with the family in the UK so it seems strange that it was never discussed or passed down to later generations. That must have been devestating for them all. I also find it perculiar that in the obituarys only the sisters are mentioned and not the 2 brothers Frederick and John. I have now found Johns war records too. He was very young in the first war and suffered a heart condition after it due to being subjected to many gas attacks. It strikes me that the family suffered a lot of heartbreak. I wish I could fathom out why when returning to war John stated he is gong to Ohio to visit his sister Annie, who it appears was always with Robert Jack? Expecially as he gives the correct surname of the family at the correct address .... hmmmm all very interesting.
Im also fascinated at how you are tracking these stories down! Its heartbreaking to read but very insightful into the families lives in canada.
thanks so much
Dawn x
