I think i need a copy of the adoption certificate as my dad has the original and I dont see him and will only get that upon his death  :(

The adoption certificate will not give any details of the birth mother -just the names of the parents who adopted - it is used as a birth certificate - often children who were adopted were only showed a short form of this -which looks like a short form of an original  birth certificate- this was done to keep the fact they were adopted "secret"

If you had a letter from Warwicks CC giving information about siblings then they must have access to the adoption records. As a direct line relative you should be given access to those records - your father willl not be a direct line relative to the person you are enquiring about
Would you PM me the information Warwicks cc have sent to you ? If of course you wish to

I was wondering if your ancestor was from Bedworth or just staying there

I found this on WW2 memories of silverdale
During WW2
" Seven girls - Bevan girls - worked making piston rings in a factory near Folesworth and were living in a hostel in Bedworth "

No names mentioned - but could Crofts farm have been a hostel in the war??

Thanks aghadowey,

Dave has now been back to another Forum to reply, thanks Dave.
I had sent Dave here because of the Traveller/Showman question as I knew this site could help with it, but the other Forum was still awaiting a reply from Dave but he has now seen it and left a message.
