Finding where someone is buried
« on: Tuesday 28 August 12 10:50 BST (UK) »
Does anyone know how I might go about finding where someone was buried?  From the Liverpool area.  She was no more than 6 months old and died in 1952.  Don't have exact birth or death dates yet but am looking into that.

Find the date as best you can, also find out the name of the local council. Then contact their Bereavement Services - they are often amazingly helpful. For example, the last visit I made (Merthyr Tydfil, not Liverpool, but....) gained a bonus of directing me to a Masonic Hall, and also phoning the cemetery foreman so that he could meet me and take me to the graves I was interested in.

then go to cemeteries/England/Lancashire there are cemeteries in the Liverpool area with photographs of graves and names and burial years etc.....

may be a help?

Thanks for your help.  Been in touch with the bereavement services and they directed me to the council but I've drew a blank down both avenues.  Still awaiting date of death.  As for picture of headstone, I think its unlikely that she has one.  My grandmother died in1957 and I know where she is buried but she has no headstone either.  Does anyone have any contact details for Ford Cemetery?  It may be possible that she was buried there as that is where my grandmother is.

There's a good chance if the burial was at Ford or Yew Tree RC cemeteries we'll be able to tell you the grave details. If you don't want to post the name online you can send me a private message or anyone else offering help.
