Lost relative

Hello, I have lost a great uncle in Canada.  I'm not sure how to look for information as I don't live in Canada, and the only details I have are the following:

James Alexander McHardy (born1897, Fordyce) left Scotland for Canada in 1924, I have the passenger information for him.  He was going to live with a Frank M.G Taylor in Montreal.  The address of Frank Taylor is a bit faint, but I think it was Albany Avenue, Cote Des Neiges, Montreal?

Nobody in the family ever hear from him after his arrival in Canada, and I have been trying to find out what happened to him after he arrived , but I am not sure how to do it.

Any help would be appreciated.

We haven't a lot of resources, post census, for searching within the century. Privacy laws further restrict the search...
Lovell's directory...choose Série principale (1842-1977) the year then the alphabetical listings... then alphabetical listings..shows neither to me but you can look for miss-spellings....and in earlier and later years

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,266234.msg1660865.html#msg1660865 There are 2 online cemetery searches, but don't see him in there, either, and although many Frank Taylors, none have the middle names listed to pinpoint your man...

That is also our Que. resources page, perhaps you can find something else in there which has 20th century searches...
